Falling into the Rabbit Hole of Belief
Man's Fall: The Journey from Sanity to Insanity
Here are a few examples of the nonsense that happens at so-called churches:
I am sick and tired of having to see such things still occurring up into 2025. Why are individuals voluntarily allowing themselves to be victims of abuse, risking their livelihoods, dignity and even their kids’ lives on faith and belief? Let’s examine the key steps that man takes to his own downfall.

A Need. Man needs help with an aspect of life. They may need financial assistance, marriage counselling, family unity, a sense of fulfilment, happiness, direction... There is something missing in their life, which they need help finding.
Supply and Demand. The church says they can help with that need. They say that God is real. Well, who is God? God is an entity that usurps science, rationale and common sense. God can make the impossible possible if you believe in him.
Evidence. Man believes in this methodology of success because other people believe in it and testimonies prove it.
USP (Unique Selling Point or Unusual Selling Point). Man begins to engage in rituals and practices outside of what is considered “normal”, such as falling down. He begins to accept this as normal behaviour because he has been told to “let go of everything he thinks he understands about the world” in order to understand this new world. This opens the gates to accepting stranger practices, such as eating grass on the same premise that “God’s ways are not man’s ways.”
Seclusion. Man is told he is special. God loves him and he should ignore any outside influences because those people do not know God — they have not discovered “the truth”.
Transformed Identity. Man is now “born-again”. He has let go of his old identity and fully embraced the new identity he has in church. He has taken to the new routine, rituals, and practices. He has become a part of the herd.
Belief > Facts. Belief, faith and obedience are more important to the man than science, facts and common sense because he is interested in defending his newfound identity since he no longer has any other.
Dependence. Since man has fallen so far down the rabbit hole, he relies on the very same people that took him there to bring him out (if they ever choose to) because he only trusts them and no longer knows the difference between what is real and what is fake. He may not have obtained the goals he set out to obtain when he joined the church, but he doesn't know his way out anymore.
What exactly is happening here?
God is being used as a cheat code.
God is being sold as a fast-track, short-cut means to achieve one's personal goals.
And that is exactly the entrance point to the rabbit hole...
The rabbit hole entrance is the belief that there is a hack to life that includes miracles, signs and wonders and rejects science, rationale or common sense.
That is the beginning of the path of insanity.
What are the things which protect other believers (of the same God) from getting to that stage of insanity?
A basic level of critical thinking skills that allow them to differentiate fact from fallacy.
A reduced need for a miracle-working God, i.e., stability in finances, good relationships, a sense of purpose and direction in life.
Listening to opposing views to prevent isolation and seclusion into an echo-chambered community.
